Craving Stains

Gay science fiction novella published by Wayward Ink Publishing

Craving Stains by Alina Popescu CoverWynn Brenwood has been trapped by his mother since birth, shut away in a sterile, hospital-like apartment.

Is it her desire to keep him safe that sees him locked up in his pristine cage? Or are her motives less innocent and well-intentioned?

Wynn longs to break free to experience the world he sees beyond his window.

Desperate to escape, he meets Doyle, a handsome, leather-clad, and enigmatic stranger.

But is Doyle real, or is he just a figment of Wynn’s imagination?

Readers and Reviewers on Craving Stains

I liked that Alina has created something so very different from the other MM novels which was a huge delight to read. This story was a complete joy to read as Alina takes us on a new type of journey. The way she created the characters, especially Wynn, was just simply some brilliant writing. How the author keeps us guessing if Doyle is real and how exactly they meet is some of the best writing I have come across in awhile. I have to personally thank the author, Alina Popescu for writing a brilliant, steamy and thought provoking novel….Craving Stains. I highly and I mean highly recommend this novel to everyone as you will not be disappointed in the least!!!

Paul Berry, Gay Media Reviews

Ms. Popescu has crafted a thoughtprovoking and atmospheric tale where fantasy and reality are blurred to lead readers on a merry chase. With bits of sci-fi and futuristic elements too readers are shown a world full of dangers that a cruel woman uses to her advantage in her perverted name of love to wrap up with an ending that leaves readers guessing. How the story’s conclusion is viewed will be up to the reader as they sift through the clues buried within the narrative in this memorable novella that deserves to be a full-length story.

J Faltys, reviewer

This novella takes us on a twisted journey through the minds of various people in a dystopic world.
The sci-fi element to the story is mild, however, just like with every story that is set in the future, we’ve got to leave our own perceptions of how things might function and look at it through the author’s goggles. To be fair, Alina doesn’t really give us any chance to complain on that front.
I, for one, would have loved the story to go on and on, since i like the premise so much, but the tight wound suspense of the story and how/where she chose to end it makes it even more delicious.

This book is something different and I really enjoyed it, I would have liked to see Wynns mom get her just desserts, but I am really hoping there will be another book where that will happen! I love this premise, and need even more! Thanks Alina for giving us a book that keeps us guessing and ‘craving’ more of this wonderful, inventive story!

Bike Book Reviews

This is a science fiction short story unlike any I have read before. Many have I read these types of stories where the author’s goal is to make us think. How? Why? What? Is it even possible? Are any of these events real?

For me they are, at least from Wynn’s point of view. Then again I think they are real from Doyle’s point of view. Which is real, which is not? This is a question only the reader can answer for themselves and what makes this a recommended read.
