Dawn to Dusk – Book One

Edi’s life is made up of precious moments.

That first encounter with Robert in rural Romania at eleven. A summer spent together in the same setting a year later. Their first text exchange in high school. The first sexual experience. The first heartbreak–the second and third and fourth chance. The point of total breakdown and the despair of failing. More love than anyone could have warned him about.

No matter how much time passes, no matter how different their paths, every meeting brings Edi and Robert closer together. Those stolen moments shine brighter than any. Yet loving Robert is not easy, not when Edi wants to be true to himself and is met with dishonesty. Or when Robert keeps parading new conquests and ignores Edi more often than not.

Edi has always loved Robert, but he must decide if his journey leads to or away from his childhood friend. Is it true love or is Edi just unable to let go?

“You’ll feel like you’ve run an emotional gauntlet by the end, and you’ll be glad you did!”

Dusk to Dawn – Book Two

Since he was thirteen, Sebastian’s every precious moment was connected to his first crush, Edi. His protector through his toughest school years, Edi has always guided Sebastian’s choices. Love, lust, the realization he was gay, his passion for sports and karate, his studies and career of choice, everything in Seba’s life is somehow linked to Edi.

Sebastian’s love never faltered over the years, not as he challenged himself to catch up to Edi. Nor when Edi’s on and off boyfriend, Robert, showed up to wreak havoc in their lives.

Sebastian has shaped his life to revolve around Edi–his friend, roommate, and occasional lover. But is that the right path for him, or should he start a new journey, one that takes him away from Edi all the way to another country? And will running away solve anything in the end?

“Love the characters! Love the storyline! Definitely two must read books!”

Excerpt

It had been quite a while since I’d ended it with Robert for good. We’d met a few times since, but after a few more failed attempts, I’d made sure it wouldn’t develop into anything more than a friendly chat. Even I had to learn after getting burned a few more times. I’d made a promise to myself on graduation day that I would also add graduating Robert to my Uni diploma.

My phone pinged with a new message and I pulled it out of my front pocket to see it.

I need to see you, squirt.

I frowned at my phone, trying to decide whether throwing it away or deleting the message would be more fulfilling.

“What’s wrong?”

Seba came to sit next to me and read the text over my shoulder. “Oh, hell no! Don’t you fucking answer it, Edi. You hear me?” He pointed a stabby finger at me and I chuckled.

“Wasn’t planning on it, kid. Don’t worry.”

I deleted the text and switched off my phone, just to be sure.

“How did he get your number anyway? You’ve changed it.”

I shrugged and stretched my arms on the back of the couch. “Hell if I know. Maybe from my grandma or some other relative who doesn’t know I’m trying to avoid him.”

“Hmm. He’s persistent, isn’t he?” Seba frowned and crossed his arms over his chest.

“Back off, mother goose. I’ll be fine. He’ll give up if I ignore him. Worst case, we meet for coffee, I act cold, he’ll back off for a few more months.”

A knock at our door had us both staring at each other.

“Who the hell is that?” I asked, raising my eyebrows and looking toward the entrance as if it was haunted.

“How should I know? Other than Evelina, no one visits us here. And she calls first.”

I shrugged and relaxed on the couch, hoping whoever it was would go away. Another few knocks, each of them louder, followed, and I wondered how long it would take them to give up.

After the fourth rap of knocking, Seba got up and went to see who it was.

“Oh, no you don’t! Get the fuck out of here!” he yelled, his voice echoing through the stairwell.

“Get out of my way. This does not concern you,” Robert replied, his voice steady and mocking.

I’d immediately recognized his voice, of course. I was such a fucking wreck when it came to him. With a sigh, I stood up and went to diffuse the situation. Seba was getting louder and Robert wasn’t making things any easier. The taunts would make my young friend blow a fuse and punch Robert in the face.

“I’ve got it, Seba,” I said, squeezing his shoulder and smiling at him.

“Fine, but I’m just behind the door if you need me to take the trash out.”

“Feisty, isn’t he?” Robert chuckled, leaning against the door frame. “Good to see you, squirt.”

“Feeling’s not mutual. How the hell did you get my address?”

Robert shrugged and gave me a small smile. “Evelina gave it to me.”

The words felt like a punch in the gut. Why would my best friend give Robert any information on me? She knew exactly how he was. How he’d broken me in so many pieces over the years, I’d almost failed to put myself back together.

“Please, Edi. Can I come in?” Robert reached out and brushed my face with the back of his fingers. A tentative, shaky move, accompanied by the scratchy sound of skin against my stubble. I’d been on a gaming binge with Seba since Friday evening. No time to shave, it wasn’t like I planned to leave the house until Monday morning.

“Robert, I don’t have time for this.” I did my absolute best to put strength behind those words, but his simple touch had undone me more than I wanted to admit.

“Squirt, I spent all of yesterday talking Evelina into giving me your address. Please, just hear me out. If you still want me to leave afterward, I will.”

Wow, a full day. It didn’t mean much for most mortals, but it was indeed great effort on Robert’s part. I sighed and motioned for him to come in. Somewhere behind me, I heard the door to Seba’s room slam shut. My stomach twisted at the thought of having to discuss this with him after Robert left. Sebastian wouldn’t take it very well.
