Blog Tour Stop: The Library by T.M. Smith

Review, a hot interview with Raven and Tanis, and a Giveaway!

I have been waiting for this novella for months! I stalked T.M Smith’s page for updates. OK, also for the hot pics she keeps posting. But mostly for updates on The Library and the Opposites series. See, this gorgeous author popped my m/m cherry. Yes, you got that right, Opposites was the first m/m novel I ever read. It all went downhill from there, meaning there are so many LGBT reads on my Kindle right now, I have to dig through them to get to anything else!

Before I tell you more about the library, here’s the official blurb:

the library cover

Three gay couples run amok in this short story where clothing, beds, even four walls are all optional!

Want to know what happened that night in the library?
Cirian and Rian had a fight in the library and Rian ends up naked on the desk, on his back, at Cirian’s mercy.

Want to know how far things went with ice cream?
A romantic evening by the fire feeding his husband ice cream leads to a lot more than heavy petting for Aiyan and Kaden.

Want to know what was going on when those birds fled?
Travelling hundreds of miles, battling the rebels and then travelling back to House Gaeland will take it out of you. But when Tanis wants something, he takes it. Raven is about to be bent over a tree!

A Note from the Author: I’ve taken three scenes from Opposites that were cut short and elaborated on the shenanigans that ensued. I also focused more in the beginning on the relationship between Cirian and Rian, to give readers a chance to know them and their inner workings better.

**Warning, The Library is a novella set in the same world as Opposites. It’s an adult dystopian M/M novella that includes consenting and explicit sexual relationships between gay couples**

My Review:

The level of steaminess of this book is off the charts! The only problem with it? It’s not long enough. What can I say, I love this universe so much, I just constantly want more! And don’t you worry, more is coming.

Rian and Cirian were barely on my radar before The Library. Their story touched me in a way I didn’t expect. Such devotion, such longing and such passion. Who wouldn’t want a marriage like that? A lifelong friendship and love story. Sounds perfect to me?

Aiyan and Kaden act like horny teenagers. When they get together, stuff gets destroyed. It’s funny and sweet, and just the right amount of twisted and perverted 😀 Everything they touch, anywhere they are, it all ignites a little smexy time.

Yet the best part about this story is the spotlight on my favorite couple’s explorations of nature and wildlife. Raven and Tanis are burning hot and their relationship is the dearest to me. Probably because it is the most difficult. One has to make peace with his naughty past, the other one has to find a way to reconcile his love for God with the love for his new found lover. You can’t help rooting for them.

Was it obvious that I loved it? No? I loved every second of it. That is why I finished reading a couple of hours after receiving the ebook. Don’t judge, I know I’m a little obsessed with the works of my favorite authors! Now, because T.M Smith loves me, she made it possible for me to get together with Tanis and Raven and have a little chat with them.  And this, my friends, is what happened:

Interview with Tanis and Raven

Alina~Hi! *grins like the crazy fan girl that she is and can’t seem to let go of Tanis’ hand so she keeps shaking it* You gorgeous boys take a seat and I’ll be right back!*Runs out the back to scream, jump, giggle, squeal, and other embarrassing activities*

So, thank you both for coming. Anything to drink?

Raven~ “Do you have any white wine?”

Tanis~ “Now Raven, you know the white gives you a migraine.” Tanis turns to face Alina, “We’ll each take a glass of something red, the older the better!” Raven growls at Tanis, but smiles indulgently.

Alina~ No worries, we’ve got some delicious Pinot Noir to indulge with. It’s great that I live a stone thrown away from an area of my country known for its wines, isn’t it? *Grins widely*

Ok, let’s get this party started! *attempts to wipe aforementioned stupid grin off her face* What was the first thing you thought of the other one when you first saw him?

Tanis~ “Oh, Raven didn’t like me very much at first.”

Raven~ “Now that’s just not true.” he glares in Tanis’s direction before addressing Alina again. “It wasn’t that I didn’t like him, he was just so… “

Tanis~ “Gorgeous, sexy, smoldering?? “ Tanis is now undressing Raven with his eyes.

Raven~ glaring again “NO. Ostentatious!” Tanis snorts. “I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. From the first hand shake I felt something in your touch, saw something in your eyes” Raven is now focused completely on Tanis, Alina’s presence momentarily forgotten, Alina coughs slightly and Raven focus’ on her again. “Sorry. I won’t lie, I was smitten but I definitely made him work for it.”

Tanis~ “Thats an understatement! OUCH!” Tanis roars when Raven smacks his arm. “Stop that! Anyway, back to your question. The first thing I noticed about Raven was his hair, it was like a beacon calling me to him. And then those eyes, couldn’t you just get lost in them.” Alina leans back in her chair and sighs contentedly as Raven leans in for a kiss.

Alina~ Neither of you was really looking for a relationship when you met, but this beautiful thing between you happened. Was it hard to adjust to a whole new way of seeing your lives?

“Yes,” both men say in unison.

Raven~ “I almost walked away from him because I didn’t know how to be a Priest and be in love with him. He never gave up on me though, and now I can’t imagine my life without him in it.” He rubs his hand up and down Tanis’s thigh.

Tanis~ “I’m not sure yet where this,” he says waving a hand between him and Raven, “is going to lead. Obviously one of us will have to leave our home. We’ve talked about it, but no decisions have been made. Raven will be accompanying me and my family along with Aiya and Sawyer for a trip to House Orion next week. My mother, Ari, is already planning our wedding and we haven’t even set a date.”

Raven~ “We’ll figure it all out, and you’ll be the first to know.” Raven winks at Alina and she shudders.

Alina~ Did you expect any major obstacles to surpass, family, the fact that Raven was a priest, your own fears and past transgressions? *smiles sweetly and bats eyelashes at Tanis* Yeah, you were quite a bad boy, weren’t you?

Tanis~ “I don’t think it’s any secret that I’d had a few lovers before Raven.”Raven spits a mouthful of wine all over Alina’s lap, choking.

Raven~ “A FEW!” he shouts while grabbing a napkin from the table, “I’m so sorry, here, let me get that for you.”

Alina~ heavy sigh

Tanis~ “Anyway. It still worries me sometimes, that Raven will see my home and see my past for what it is, and decide he’s too good for me.”

Raven~ “As if. Yes, our lives are definitely changing and there are challenges we will have to face. Tanis is still the captain for Greece, and I’m still a member of The Order. With everything we’ve been through and the strength of our love, I think we can make it through anything.”

Alina~ Is it hard to be fighting alongside the love of your life? Does that increase the pressure of it?

Tanis~ “Oh Hell yes!”

Raven~ “Language love.”

Tanis~ “Shut your face!”

Alina~ giggles, “oh sorry, you were saying Tanis?”

Tanis~ “I’ve fought alongside my parents, my friends and my sister. Nothing has ever scared me as much as fighting with Raven. It’s this gut wrenching fear that swells up inside you, a fear of losing him or him getting hurt. There is a strength and a weakness to the entire aspect of it, a double edged sword if you will. Fearing for his safety and that distraction made me weaker, but the need to protect him and to watch him hold his own, that gave me strength.”

lou love

Alina~ What is your favorite thing about the other one?

Raven~ Raven smiles at Alina then faces Tanis, reaching up and brushing a whisp of hair that has fallen into Tanis’s eyes back behind his ear. “His fearlessness. He does nothing half way, its balls to the wall regardless.” Tanis chuckles, smiling at his lover.

Tanis~ “His faith, it defines him and sets him apart from everyone else.”

Alina~ How about your favorite weapon? *Shrugs and smiles sheepishly* Don’t judge, I grew up ogling kung fu movies and other action heroes!

Tanis~ “My bare hands.” He cracks his knuckles then pounds his right fist into his left palm while Raven rolls his eyes at him.

Raven~ “I loathe killing any living thing unless it’s absolutely necessary. But my sword that Rian had made for me is a thing of beauty.”

Alina~ What’s the one thing you dislike the most in the other one?

They turn their attention to one another again before answering..

Raven~ “He’s too cocky sometimes, domineering.”

Tanis~ “Oh you love it and you know it, pretty boy.”

Raven~ “Who you calling boy?”

Tanis~ “You love it when I dominate you.” Raven blushes slightly

Raven~ “Only in certain… places.”

Tanis~ grinning like a cheshire cat, “Like in the bedroom?”

Raven~ “I think you’ve already proven you don’t need four walls and a bed to dominate.” Raven’s blush has been replaced by a smoldering stare, Tanis licks his lips.

Tanis~ “I’ll show you dominate when I strip you naked, handcuff you to my headboard and…”

Raven~ “Tanis!” he barks out, “I don’t think this is the time or place to discuss such things.” Nodding his head in Alina’s general direction.

Tanis~ “Oh love, I don’t think she minds. In fact, I think she quite likes it.”

Alina~ eyes wide she just stares for a few moments until Raven clears his throat, “Oh, yes, next question.”

I heard some rumors about wedding plans? Any truth to that? Am I invited?

Tanis~ “Did you talk to my mother already?” Alina just shrugs. “As I thought.”

Raven~ “Yes we are getting married, No we don’t know when yet. We gave Ari free reign as long as she keeps Rian and Mia in the loop. She reminds me of a character in a book I read from the archives, Twilight I think it was. Yes, Alice in Twilight.”

Tanis~ “And of course you are invited, the more the merrier.”

Alina~ Would you consider honeymooning in Romania? I’ll create the itinerary, book your hotel rooms, make sure there is live video feed 😀

Tanis~ “Which House is that again?”

Raven~ “Oh Ren Zhi. Rian spent a summer there just before he and Cirian were married. He said it was the most beautiful place he’d ever seen, and Rian has been to all the Houses.”

Tanis~ “Ah, yes. That is a definite possibility. I’ve travelled the world but Raven here has only been to House Gaeland and House Gilley, so I will leave the honeymoon destination up to him.”

Raven~ “I’ll ignore the video comment,” he teases Alina, smiling. “And consider your proposal. I understand Romania is a fascinating place and I’d love to see more culture and meet new people.”

Alina~ How’s working with Tammy? She seems to be lots of fun, but is she really a slave driver when it comes to you?

Tanis~ “Worse than you!” Raven glares at him again for about the tenth time during the interview. “What?” Tanis asks, pulling off stupid very well.

Raven~ “She’s pretty cool for a straight gal. I don’t think anyone could tell our story better. She’s really taken to Aiya and Sawyer, perhaps because they have more in common. Her and I disagree sometimes on matters of faith, and our moral code is slightly different. And she is utterly fascinated with our sex life, a little scary sometimes, but seriously the best friend you could ever have.”

Alina thinks to herself, I must interview Tammy!

Tanis~ “She wants us to have a destination wedding somewhere around House Gilley. Her fascination with Celtic and Irish cultures is bleeding over into our nuptials. At first I thought she was a pain in the ass, but then she kind of grew on me.”

Alina~ Thank you for your time guys! *Hugs them both and wipes tears* I would totally restrain you and keep you with me, but my dog gets jealous. Oh, and your families might kill me! But come visit soon <3

Raven stands and pulls Alina into a hug, “Seriously, you will come to the wedding right? You can do a full story on it, Ari would be so pleased.” Alina squeezes him tight in her arms, Raven could swear she sniffs his hair.

“Of course I will. I look forward to it.” She exchanges an all too long embrace with Tanis as well, then hugs Raven again before leaving.

“That was uncomfortable.” Raven whispers.

“That was fantastic!” Tanis shouts as he pushes Raven down onto the couch on his back and straddles his lap. Leaning in Tanis brushes his tongue over Raven’s bottom lip, then bites down gently, drawing a moan. Raven leans up on his elbows capturing Tanis’s mouth in a smoldering kiss, a kiss that had been brewing over the past hour. Tanis wraps his legs around Raven’s waist and starts rocking back and forth, he pulls Tanis’s body closer, deepening the kiss.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” Maya shouts from the doorway, before turning on her heels and marching back down the hall.

Both men laugh through another kiss before standing, adjusting, and making their way to their room for some well deserved love making. It’s only three o’clock in the afternoon, but they miss dinner and don’t leave the comfort of their room again until the next day.

Meanwhile, Alina crawls out of the corner where she was hiding like a true fangirl, cursing Maya under her breath.

Oh, well, there’s still that honeymoon, I’ll have live video feed and no interruptions!
