Title: Dawn to Dusk
Series: Lover’s Journey, Book One
Author: Alina Popescu
Genre: Gay Romance, Contemporary
Length: Novel (over 50000 words)
That first encounter with Robert in rural Romania at eleven. A summer spent together in the same setting a year later. Their first text exchange in high school. The first sexual experience. The first heartbreak—the second and third and fourth chance. The point of total breakdown and the despair of failing. More love than anyone could have warned him about.
No matter how much time passes, no matter how different their paths, every meeting brings Edi and Robert closer together. Those stolen moments shine brighter than any. Yet loving Robert is not easy, not when Edi wants to be true to himself and is met with dishonesty. Or when Robert keeps parading new conquests and ignores Edi more often than not.
Edi has always loved Robert, but he must decide if his journey leads to or away from his childhood friend. Is it true love or is Edi just unable to let go?

How about another exclusive excerpt? I hope you like it, especially since it’s inspired by true events <3
“Are you chickening out on me, squirt?” Robert challenged, his hands propped on his hips and his head propped to the side.
“Who would do that, you big idiot?” I would, in a second. If it were anyone but Robert, I’d tell them they were insane and go home. But I couldn’t bring myself to be true to my instincts. Not when I had something to prove to him.
After the first few meters of the climb, I felt better, even if just by an inch. Robert had gone before me, telling me to follow in his tracks. I had, so far, and I was gaining confidence. It wasn’t that bad. It was easy enough to reach for the next branch, or rock, or root.
We were climbing fast, not stopping for long. It wasn’t the most effort I’d put into a physical exercise, but the early afternoon heat made it more strenuous. Sweat mixed with dry dirt got into my eyes, making them itchy. I held on as best I could and used my T-shirt sleeve to clean my face.
“Don’t look down,” Robert warned in a severe voice just as I was about to look at the creek flowing under me. We’d picked a place where there weren’t more than a couple of meters from the water’s edge to the wall we were currently climbing.
“Wasn’t gonna,” I said through grinding teeth.
The break I took to clean my eyes and totally lie to Robert meant I’d not paid attention to the route he’d taken. So I went where it seemed easier. One, two, three pulls and I was stuck. My arm was overextended, and my left foot slipped a little as the rock under it dislodged. Despite Robert’s repeated warning, I followed the tumble and fall of said rock and realized how far from the ground I really was.
“Oh my God! We are so high….”
“Shut up, squirt, and keep climbing,” Robert muttered, but there was a slight edge in his voice. That faltering tone made me shiver. Oh, shit, he thinks I am in trouble too. I am doomed.
A soft whimper left my lips as I tried my best to hold on and find a new rock to step on.
